Malcolm Lazin - Executive Producer Malcolm Lazin is the Executive Producer of JIM IN BOLD (2003) and Gay Pioneers (2004). Mr. Lazin is the founder and Executive Director of Equality Forum, a national gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) civil rights organization. Mr. Lazin served as the volunteer Board Co-Chair from 1993 to 1998. Mr. Lazin is a graduate of Lebanon Valley College and Boston University School of Law. He served in the US Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia, where he headed federal grand jury investigations of white-collar crime and official corruption. He received the Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award, the highest award of the US Department of Justice. Mr. Lazin served as the Chair, Pennsylvania Crime Commission, an agency that investigated organized crime. Thereafter, he was a litigation partner in a Philadelphia law firm. He was President of the Penn’s Landing Development Corporation, which specialized in redevelopment of urban waterfronts for entertainment and other public uses. Mr. Lazin was the Chair, Philadelphia Waterfront Developers Council and conceived the idea to light the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. He helped to organize a bi-state committee and served as the fundraising co-chair. Mr. Lazin chaired the Washington Square Committee, which successfully lobbied to have the largest Revolutionary War burial site included into Independence National Historical Park. Mr. Lazin has received numerous GLBT and mainstream regional and national awards for public service. In 2005, he was the recipient of the National Education Association’s (NEA) Creative Leadership in Human Rights Award. |
